Speeche & Co. is a two-person operation run from our kitchen table. Raney is the speech-language pathologist. Austin is the tech guy. The store exists because one of us spent years saying the merch for her profession wasn’t cute enough, and the other one finally said, “you know we could just make it.”
Raney studied speech pathology at TCU, spent her first years in a skilled nursing facility, and now works with kids at a school — so she’s lived both sides of this field, from swallow studies to speech rooms. At every stop, the same thing was true: teachers and nurses have entire brands built around them, and SLPs get word-art clip art. She wanted pieces she’d actually reach for — at work on a Friday, at Target on a Saturday.
So we split it the way we split most things. Raney and her SLP group chat decide what gets made — the phrases, the colors, the blanks worth printing on. Austin, who does tech consulting by day, handles the website, the orders, and the spreadsheets nobody else wants to look at.
Everything is printed in the U.S. when you order it — small drops, no warehouse, nothing mass-produced. When an order comes in, a real person sees it (usually Austin, at the aforementioned kitchen table), and a real SLP signed off on it.
If you’re an SLP, a speechie-in-training, or someone shopping for one — thanks for being here. — Raney & Austin Farr
“Nothing goes in the shop unless Raney would actually wear it to work.”

The collection is small on purpose — a handful of pieces we stand behind, with new drops a few times a year.
